Bill Iacone

This online memorial was created in loving memory of Bill Iacone, whose life story is told throughout this memorial website. William T. Iacone (Bill) 73, of Port Charlotte, Fl. died peacefully September 23, 2016 at home with his family by his side, after a long bout of cancer. Bill was born and raised in Wayne, Pa. He and his wife, Gina, resided in Philadelphia suburbs until July 2002, when they relocated to Florida. Please sign Bill's guest book and let us know you came to visit. Bill was a graduate of Radnor High School. He graduated in 1961 and was co-captain of the football team and Vice President of his class. He went on to West Chester University (WCU) class of í65. He earned two Masters Degrees from Villanova in May of 1970 and in September of 1976. His degrees were in Education Administration. He retired from Octorara School District in June of 2002. Bill served the community in many ways. He was a crisis counselor for Project Hope to help hurricane victims after Hurricane Charlie in 2004. He was a volunteer with CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) and the Red Cross. He was President of his Neighborhood Community Association. He was active with the community of the St. Maximillian Kolbe Catholic Church where he was a team member with the Menís Emmaus Retreat Team. He also served the Diocese of Venice as a member of their Review Board. He was the devoted husband of Gina Iacone and loving father to his two sons: Matt (Vanessa) Iacone of West Chester Pa. and Drew (Cheryl) Iacone of Alamo, Ca; and to his six grandchildren: Ryan, Faith, Ella, Sophia of West Chester and Maren, Blakely of Alamo, California. Bill is survived also by his brother, Joe (Ginny) Iacone of Wayne, Pa. and cousins, nieces and nephews that he dearly loved. He was preceded in death by his parents, Angelo and Elizabeth (Giambrone) Iacone, brother Angelo and sister Jeannie Aquilante.


Celebration of Life Masses and Receptions will be held in his memory in Florida on October 15, 2016 (11a at St. Maximillian Kolbe Church: 1441 Spear Street, Port Charlotte) and in Pennsylvania on November 26, 2016 (11:30a at St. Maximillian Koble Church: 15 E. Pleasant Grove Rd, West Chester) with receptions to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Killinger Foundation, with checks made payable to WCU Foundation, PO Box 541, West Chester, Pa. 19381.
